Emergency Department Receives Top Marks for Patient SatisfactionÂ
(Johns Creek, Ga.) — When it comes to satisfied patients, Emory Johns Creek Hospital’s Emergency Department ranks right at the top, both in the state of Georgia and the nation. The ranking was revealed last week in the results of a survey conducted by health care research and consulting firm Press Ganey.
The survey questioned patients about their experiences during treatment in Emory Johns Creek Hospital’s Emergency Department over a three-month period. Patients evaluated the hospital on a number of factors such as wait time, courtesy of staff, employees’ responsiveness and attention to details, cleanliness of facility, provision of privacy and more.
Individuals who completed the questionnaire gave Emory Johns Creek Hospital high marks in virtually every area on the survey.
“No one looks forward to trips to ER, but if the need is there, [Emory] Johns Creek is the ER of choice,” said one patient.
Emory Johns Creek Hospital scored 94.5 out of a possible 100 percent in the survey’s Overall Rating of Care, placing it in the top 1 percent of hospitals of similar size in Georgia and the U.S.
“This achievement and the patient comments that we received mean so much because they show that we are achieving what we have set out to do — to provide extraordinary care with unparalleled compassion to every patient, every day,” said Natascha Barney, RN, MBA, CEN, Director of Emergency Services at Emory Johns Creek Hospital. “Additionally, we hit a record number of patients seen during the month of August. So, for us to be able to maintain a high level of patient satisfaction during very busy times is especially significant.”
“This survey shows that the hospital’s Emergency Department employees are giving a consistently high performance in the treatment of patients,” said Redge Hanna, NHA, Director of Service Performance for Emory Healthcare. “It differentiates Emory Johns Creek Hospital and Emory Healthcare from the state and the nation.”
