Craig McCoy, CEO, EJCH

Craig McCoy has been named Emory Johns Creek Hospital’s new chief executive officer. He will begin his new role on May 16, 2011.

McCoy comes to Emory Johns Creek Hospital from Vanguard Health Systems, where he most recently served as chief executive officer of Paradise Valley Hospital in Phoenix, Ariz. He also worked with Vanguard Health Systems in a variety of other capacities, as well as served as vice president of professional services at Oconee Medical Center in South Carolina.

“I’m pleased to be joining a hospital that is both community-based, but also part of a world-renowned academic medical center,” said McCoy. “It’s my goal to ensure that Emory Johns Creek Hospital continues providing high-quality services to the region it serves in a manner that is patient and family centered.”

Originally from South Carolina, McCoy holds a bachelor’s degree from Furman University and a master’s of health administration from Medical University of South Carolina/Clemson University. He is relocating from Arizona with his wife and two children, and said he is happy to be returning to the Southeast, closer to family and friends.
